Our Story
Established in 1999, Eastern Innovation provides an innovative working environment and learning hub for business professionals to learn, and build growing, thriving, sustainable businesses.
Early Beginnings
Formerly The Monash Enterprise Centre, Eastern Innovation was established as a non-for-profit organisation to support entrepreneurs during their early growth stages. Businesses move here to sustainably grow until they are large enough to build their own HQ.
Our story began with the establishment of the Tom Morrissey Building in 1999.
The Building provided office space and business support services for over 700 local small businesses for more than 15 years.

A Second Innovation Building
Fast forward to 2016, where the Jessie Tait Building was established to encourage more entrepreneurship in a modern, tech-focussed facility complete with labs onsite.
It is home to a wonderful community of collaborative, inspired, innovative entrepreneurs preparing their ideas for market.
The workspace suits businesses developing new products, designs or services for commercialisation and offers tenants outstanding opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and collaborate.

Today: A Business Incubator
Today, Eastern Innovation stands as a prime business hub supporting founders, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
We provide our community with tailored services to help them achieve sustainable growth.
We deliver targeted programs, early stage startup mentoring and events that provide masterclasses and networking opportunities.

Supporting Future
Innovation
In collaboration with the Monash Tech School, Eastern Innovation hosts the Entrepreneurial Pathways Program. Local secondary school students, studying VCE Business Managment, come in for educational seminars with expert facilitators.
We foster global partnerships. Throughout the year, delegations of international PhD candidates tour our centre, and are educated on Australian business and innovation. The expertise of our staff has been internationally recognised. Many of our staff have been esteemed judges at the Eureka International Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition.

Annually, we curate Eastern Innovation's Pitch Night which enables entrepreneurs to pitch their business and win comprehensive support, including free space in the centre for a period.
City of Monash: Industry & Innovation Precinct
Business growth and innovation in the City of Monash is highly developed and our city is now Victoria’s second largest employer outside of Melbourne’s CBD.
Eastern Innovation is a founding member, and sits on the board of the Monash Precinct Network.
The network brings together high-growth and innovation focussed organisations and individuals in industry,
education, research and government.
